Esther Home

Esther Home is an abode or haven for teenage pregnant girls and teenage mothers. Most of these girls are rape and abuse victims, rejected by their families and shunned by society at large. We believe, given a chance, these girls will be changers of society. Like Queen Esther in the Bible, despite their humble beginnings and hard hits in life, they would come to the realization just like her, that they we born  for such a time as this and be a positive influence in the society. Our ministry to these girls and their children is about much  more than just feeding, clothing, and educating them, it is about intentionally preparing and influencing them for eternity, making their lives count now and for eternity.

During the day the girls attend local schools and the children are taken care of by staff members trained in Early Childhood Development. During school holidays the girls are taught various skills; tailoring, computer, beadwork, home economics, hairdressing, baking, and childcare.

Our goal is to house 20 girls and their babies. We have a garden where we plant maize, beans, bananas, and green vegetables for consumption at the home cutting down on grocery costs. We also have dairy cows for milk. The girls bake their bread for breakfast.
